Community Education was conceived by Charles Stewart Mott and Frank Manley in the mid-1930’s and has grown into a global movement. The Community Education philosophy focuses on community development and individual improvement through citizen involvement, engagement, coordination, collaboration, and partnerships of public, private, and non-profit organizations to assess community needs and address them with local to global resources.
Community Education is embedded into our “Business DNA”. GQG Principal Greg Hansen has been involved as a Community Educator with local and international organizations and communities during the last 43 years. In 1985, he received the C.S. Mott Memorial Award Outstanding Community Educator by the Oregon Community Education Association for his contributions to organizations, communities, and Oregon.
